Industry Leader Extends its Commitment to the OKC Market and Members
DALLAS, TX (AUGUST 15, 2014) – Gold’s Gym, the world’s leading authority on health and fitness, announced today that it will soon begin the process of converting its four Gold’s Gym Express clubs in the Oklahoma City metro area into full-service Gold’s Gym locations, including two in Oklahoma City, one in Del City and one in Norman, Oklahoma. The conversion of the four Gold’s Gym Express clubs will begin as soon as Monday, August 25th and is expected to take up to three months.
As part of the conversion, members will gain access to a variety of best-in-class amenities, including: a dynamic group exercise program with a range of strength, cardio and flexibility-focused classes, Kids Club – a safe and fun environment where members’ kids can enjoy supervised activities, world class personal trainers and, for Gold Level members, unlimited access to all participating Gold’s Gym locations nationwide. The four Express clubs will remain open throughout the conversion, and all terms and pricing in current membership agreements will be honored.

“We are thrilled to be converting these Express gyms to full-service gyms to offer the most comprehensive fitness experience in the area,” said Aaron Watkins, Gold’s Gym president. “By transitioning these four gyms, and opening our newest location in Yukon next week, Oklahoma City residents have more options than ever to meet their fitness goals with Gold’s Gym with eight locations in the area.”
The deal shows the brand’s commitment to the Oklahoma City market, which began back in 2011, when Gold’s Gym opened two signature facilities for local residents. As part of its move to Oklahoma City, Gold’s Gym forged a partnership with Mayor Mick Cornett to join “The City is Going on a Diet” campaign and worked with the Mayor’s office to improve the city’s physical fitness levels and help the city reach its goal of one million pounds of weight loss.
